Madagascar rosewood veneer. For retail orders we sand them to .125" leaving a little room for cleanup. The above peghead belongs to a guitar made by Mark Blanchard, and is really a book-matched Brazilian rosewood headplate. We don't have a good example photo of a guitar with a Madagascar rosewood headplate. It is very similar to the above, although not quite as orange. See photos below the part descriptions.
