These Indian rosewood sets are, for the most part, selected because they are not the typical Indian rosewood set or they are the best of the 4A grade. These sets will make really striking guitars.
In recent years most Indian Rosewood sources have been cutting their backs and sides from different trees: the sides from the smaller trees and the backs from the larger trees. This has made it very difficult to get good color matches. As an experiment we decided to pay nearly double what we had been paying to have our source cut backs and sides from the same trees. Not only did we receive beautifully matched sets, but these are also the nicest, darkest rich purple sets that we've seen in years! And they look even better in person!
